In this beginner-friendly codelab, you’ll create a web-based text summarizer powered by Firebase AI. You’ll start by enabling AI Logic in the Firebase Console, then scaffold a Vite project, add the Firebase JS SDK, and initialize a Gemini model to generate concise summaries in the browser—no server required. Along the way, you’ll learn how to structure the project, obtain and apply your Firebase config, validate the app locally, and deploy to Firebase Hosting. The codelab includes troubleshooting tips and ideas to extend the app with features like streaming output, safety filters, and summary history.
